Chocolate Tour

Get involved in the traditional manufacturing process of biologic cacao from harvesting the fruit. Learn about the origin of the cacao tree, the first contact with Europeans, the economic importance and the disease that concerns today's producers. Learn about the health benefits of chocolate including antioxidants. Find out about the differences in the quality of the beans, as well as the drying and fermenting process. Your guide will open a ripe chocolate pod for everyone to sample before you participate in the different steps of making great organic chocolate. Toast the beans yourself, peel the seeds and grind them until getting a smooth cocoa liquor. And best of all, taste a delicious chocolate beverage.
